今回のミステイク – “She said to me~.”

説明

「彼⼥が私に⾔った」というのを‘She said to me’と⾔ってしまう⼈は多いですが、英語では「彼⼥が〜を⾔った」 “She said ~”というのが⾃然な⾔い⽅です。今回の場合、 “She said her parents~” であっても良かったのです。しかし、‘Tell’は、誰かに情報を与えたり、与えられたりすることに焦点が当てられていて、個⼈的な内容であまり他⼈には知られたくないことを話す時に使うので、この場合‘Told’がもっとも⾃然な⾔い⽅になります。

2. She said she would be here on time.
